make shapes: Blacksmithing day course

Learn how to do some basic blacksmithing at the workshop in Streatham- South West London. Conan will teach you how to forge hot steel by hand on an anvil and the power hammer. In a day or half day course you’ll be surprised how much you can make. In a half day course you can forge a tapered spiral and a functional bottle opener, a day course a bit more

A bottle opener is made by punching a hole through a piece of hot steel. The hole is then drifted and spread out to 25mm and then a small tab squashed out to catch the underside of the bottle cap. The handle part of the bottle opener can be any shape

Conan Sturdy has been teaching and demonstrating forging and blacksmithing since the late 90’s and has one of the few fully equipped blacksmithing workshops and forges with power hammer inside London.
